Breaking with tradition: An iconic videowall for a leading financial institution

26th July 2011

One of Europe’s leading financial institutions’s worked with Impact and PSCo to install a striking videowall into its London headquarters.

A 5x5 combination of NEC 46” Ultra Narrow bezel video wall screens was installed in the building’s reception, where Impact is the AV managed services supplier for the building.

The videowall replaced an LED display that had been in situ for over ten years. Rob Benton, Impact Corporate Account Manager explains; “The LED display our client had in their entrance before was using a huge amount of power, and the bank’s in-house sustainability team were concerned about the environmental impact of the technology, in terms of the amount of heat it gave off and the power it consumed. The LCD solution is more efficient in terms of power and also the infrastructure required around the installation.”

PSCo Senior Account Manager Mark Flowers explains the product choice: “NEC 46” Ultra Narrow bezel video wall solution was selected for this project due to the bright, high resolution image capabilities of the screen, and the super-thin bezel that allows for almost no interruption in picture on a display of this scale. Our team of technicians worked with Impact to install the videowall, combining the existing support structure and our bespoke M-LCD video wall brackets, with a bespoke designed steel surround.”

The videowall is driven at an incredibly high resolution by five DVI feeds, displaying stunning HD content using state of the art software from Nexus. Departments across the organisation are able to book the screen for certain times to display their own content, and the bank is currently developing a bespoke content application which will display Bloomberg newsfeeds, global news, weather and up to date travel updates, and other useful information.  Presentations and photographs are also displayed during corporate events in the atrium area.
