Impact Wins Best Business Installation
Impact has been awarded the prestigious 'Best Business Installation' award at this years AV Awards ceremony, which was held at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel London.
Managing Director, Julian Phillips, collected the award which was for Impact's integration of AV and Videoconferencing at the world famous auctioneers, Sotheby's.
Sotheby’s has updated the AV facilities at its London headquarters, installing high definition screen and television facilities in its auction rooms, creating a digital signage system in its reception area and linking a series of new VIP rooms for private viewing and bidding. Impact, which carried out the installation, put in a Cat-5 and fibre optic IP backbone to move content around the building from a central server. Screen installations included a 103in ceiling-hung plasma in the main auction room and 65in plasmas in two new auction galleries. The five private rooms are served with flat screens and AMX control systems, and Sotheby’s main boardroom has been equipped with HD videoconferencing. Auctions are filmed and recorded using a three-chip Sony HD camera at 1080p resolution, and the system is also used to feed VIP room and reception area screens with Sotheby’s own TV channel, which runs a mix of pre- and post-sale information, including animated price realisation sequences.
